Weekly Container Service

We offer a weekly container service for your Full Container Loads (FCL) from most destinations around the world. Our aim is to provide a low cost international container shipping service with the fastest available route to your destination. EMEL Shipping offers the fastest and most direct service to our regularly scheduled port of Famagusta in Cyprus.

Door to Door Service

EMEL Shipping offers a variety of door to door pick-up and delivery services from Full Container Loads (FCL) to Less than Container Loads (LCL), this includes anything from vehicles to baggage and personal belongings. With our professional teams in Famagusta and Nicosia, we take care of the customs clearance process to simplify the service before delivering your cargo.

Vehicle Shipping Service

In addition to our professional vehicle shipping services, we have experience in shipping agricultural and construction vehicles/equipment. Smaller vehicles ie. cars, can either be shipped via container or ‘RoRo’ service. Larger vehicles which cannot be containerised are shipped via. RoRo vessels. We also have a direct liner service from the UK Port of Harwich to Famagusta for all vehicles and break bulk cargos.

How soon will my quote be with me?
We provide our quotes within 48 hours of a survey, online enquiry or telephone call.
How much notice do you require?

Plan your move in advance, if you are relocating start planning at least 2-3 months before, if you are sending a few items and require a collection arrange your collection with us at least 2 weeks in advance.

How are my goods sent?
We can send your goods by Road, Sea or Air depending on where they are going to in the majority of cases they either go by road or sea as they are the most cost effective ways of sending your goods.
How long is the removal quote valid for?
Our quote is valid for 28 days from date of estimate.
What Items are Prohibited from Shipping?
Some items cannot be accepted under general conditions of carriage and storage, eg, creams, aerosol cans, ink or printer cartridges, liquids, food, cash, bonds, jewellery, alcohol, explosives, flammable gas, lithium batteries, poisons, toxins, gas cylinders, scuba tanks and various other items. Certain items cannot be imported as personal effects to certain countries or may be subject to inspection and/ or treatment or you may have to obtain an import license. Please check with our representative if in doubt.
Can you Ship my Motor Vehicle?
We specialise in the shipment of all motor vehicles, bikes, caravans, boats, trucks and motor homes worldwide and can offer a Ro-Ro service or container service .
What is a Ro-Ro Service ?
Roll-on/roll-off (RORO or ro-ro) ships are vessels designed to carry wheeled cargo, such as cars, trucks, semi-trailer trucks, trailers, and railroad cars, that are driven on and off the ship on their own wheels or using a platform vehicle, such as a self-propelled modular transporter.
What is FCL and LCL?
FCL = Full Container Load. LCL = Less than Container Load, aka Groupage. They are two common shipping terms used in the international logistics industry for export and import ocean freight cargo. LCL means you share space with others, also share cost.

How long will it take for my goods to arrive at their destination?
Transit times vary depending on your destination, mode of transport and a country’s customs. We will give you an estimated time of arrival once the ship leaves the UK.
What happens when my goods arrive at their destination?
Once your goods have arrived at their destination we will contact you to arrange a convenient delivery date.
Can my goods be delivered to my home address abroad?
In most cases we can arrange delivery at a charge although in some countries you would have to pick up from the nearest depot to arrival port.
Do I have to be present when my goods arrive at destination?

Most countries will require you to be present on arrival of your goods at chosen destination, although some countries will allow you to nominate another person to clear goods at customs on your behalf.
Your EMEL Shipping Agent will be with you every step of the way. One-to-one contact with your Agent will keep you fully updated with the progress of your move.

Do I have to pay anything on collection of my goods?
Once you have paid for your freight from the UK to Destination, you will have further charges abroad such as customs clearance, landing and port charges and agency fees in most instances you can choose to pay all charges here in the UK but in some instances you would have to pay these charges at destination depending where your goods are being shipped to. Please check this with our representative before shipping.
